If non-nil, M-x delete-trailing-whitespace (delete-trailing-whitespace) deletes trailing lines.

Trailing lines are deleted only if delete-trailing-whitespace is called on the entire buffer (rather than an active region).

This variable was added, or its default value changed, in Emacs 24.3.

Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 24.3.
