magit-delete-by-moving-to-trash is a customizable variable defined in magit-apply.el.

Whether Magit uses the system's trash can.

You should absolutely not disable this and also remove discard from magit-no-confirm. You shouldn't do that even if you have all of the Magit-Wip modes enabled, because those modes do not track any files that are not tracked in the proper branch.

This variable was added, or its default value changed, in magit version 2.1.0.
