Variable: electric-pair-skip-self

electric-pair-skip-self is a customizable variable defined in elec-pair.el.gz.

Value

electric-pair-default-skip-self

Documentation

If non-nil, skip char instead of inserting a second closing paren.

When inserting a closing paren character right before the same character, just skip that character instead, so that hitting ( followed by ) results in "()" rather than "())".

This can be convenient for people who find it easier to hit ) than C-f (forward-char).

Can also be a function of one argument (the closer char just inserted), in which case that function's return value is considered instead.

This variable was added, or its default value changed, in Emacs 24.1.

Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 24.4.
