file-name-shadow-properties is a customizable variable defined in rfn-eshadow.el.gz.

Documentation

Properties given to the shadowed part of a filename in the minibuffer.

Only used when file-name-shadow-mode(var)/file-name-shadow-mode(fun) is active. If Emacs is not running under a window system, file-name-shadow-tty-properties is used instead.

This variable was added, or its default value changed, in Emacs 22.1.

Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 22.1.
