projectile-ignored-project-regexps is a customizable variable defined in projectile.el.

Regexps matching projects not to be added to projectile-known-projects(var)/projectile-known-projects(fun).

The regexp sibling of projectile-ignored-projects(var)/projectile-ignored-projects(fun), which takes exact paths, and projectile-ignored-project-function, which takes a predicate. Each entry is matched against the project root with string-match-p, so keeping the scratch areas of a machine out of the known projects is a line of configuration rather than a lambda:

          '("\\\\`/tmp/" "/Downloads/"))

This variable was added, or its default value changed, in projectile version 3.4.0.
