project-am-load-makefile is a byte-compiled function defined in project-am.el.gz.

Documentation

Convert PATH into a project Makefile, and return its project object.

It does not check for existing project objects. Use project-am-load. Optional argument SUGGESTEDNAME will be the project name. This is used when subprojects are made in named subdirectories.
