Function: scroll-bar-mode

scroll-bar-mode is an interactive and byte-compiled function defined in scroll-bar.el.gz.

Signature

(scroll-bar-mode &optional ARG)

Documentation

Toggle vertical scroll bars on all frames (Scroll Bar mode).

This command applies to all frames that exist, as well as new frames to be created in the future. This is done by altering the frame parameters, so if you (re-)set default-frame-alist after toggling the scroll bars on or off with this command, the scroll bars may reappear on new frames.

This is a minor mode. If called interactively, toggle the Scroll-Bar mode mode. If the prefix argument is positive, enable the mode, and if it is zero or negative, disable the mode.

If called from Lisp, toggle the mode if ARG is toggle. Enable the mode if ARG is nil, omitted, or is a positive number. Disable the mode if ARG is a negative number.

To check whether the minor mode is enabled in the current buffer, evaluate (get-scroll-bar-mode).

The mode's hook is called both when the mode is enabled and when it is disabled.

View in manual

Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 20.1.
