cperl-auto-newline is a customizable variable defined in cperl-mode.el.gz.

Value

nil

Documentation

Non-nil means automatically insert a newline between phrases.

This happens before and after braces and after colons and semicolons, inserted in CPerl code. The following M-x cperl-electric-backspace (cperl-electric-backspace) will remove the inserted whitespace. Insertion after colons requires both this variable and cperl-auto-newline-after-colon set.
