magit-mode is a byte-compiled function defined in magit-mode.el.

Parent major mode from which Magit major modes inherit.

In addition to any hooks its parent mode magit-section-mode might have run, this mode runs the hook magit-mode-hook, as the final or penultimate step during initialization.
