Org-style Visibility Cycling

{C-c [} toggles the function of TAB and {S-TAB} between promotion/demotion and Org-style tree visibility cycling. The following table summarizes their behavior with Org-style view cycling enabled:

With kotl-mode:tab-flag = ‘'cycle’:
|---------------+-------------------------+----------------------|
| Prefix Arg | TAB Function | Shift-TAB Function |
|---------------+-------------------------+----------------------|
| nil | Cycle Tree | Cycle Outline |
| C-u | Cycle Outline | Cycle Outline |
| C-u C-u | Reset View Spec | Reset View Spec |
| C-u C-u C-u | Show Whole Outline | Show Whole Outline |
| 1 | Toggle tab-flag | |
| Other Num ARG | Show tree ARG levels up | Show 1 line per cell |
| | | down to ARGth level |
|---------------+-------------------------+----------------------|

By default, use {TAB} to cycle the tree at point through three different states, kotl-mode:cycle-locally:

FOLDED

Hide all but the first line of the tree at point

CHILDREN

Hide all but the first line of the root cell at point and its children

SUBTREE

Show the entire tree at point; if there is no subtree, switch directly from CHILDREN to FOLDED.

By default, use either {C-u TAB} or {S-TAB} to cycle the entire outline through three different states, kotl-mode:cycle-globally:

OVERVIEW

Show only the first line of level 1 cells

CONTENTS

Show the first line of all cells at all levels

SHOW ALL

Show the entire outline.

{S-TAB} with a numeric prefix argument shows cells across the whole outline down to prefix argument level, one line per cell. Zero means show all cell levels.

See the documentation string for kotl-mode:emulate-tab for how to constrain the contexts in which cycling will trigger.

For even more details, see the documentation strings for kotl-mode:tab-command and kotl-mode:untab-command.
